Important: Before registering for an ALEKS minicourse, make sure you have taken the ALEKS placement test.
Students wishing to prepare for M119 or V119:
- If your ALEKS placement score is between 50 and 60, we recommend making use of the practice modules available for free with your registration for the ALEKS placement test.
- If your ALEKS placement score is less than 50, we recommend either enrolling in an IU preparatory course (consult your advisor), or completing the Precalculus material within the ALEKS minicourse indicated below. Students only taking M 119 or V 119 may stop before the section labelled “Trigonometry” as that material is not used in 119.

- Go to ALEKS.com and click Sign Up.
- Enter your ten-digit course code KTHQR-AMERF and click Continue to be taken to the ALEKS registration process.
- This ALEKS minicourse requires an access fee.

Students wishing to prepare for M211:

If your ALEKS placement score is between 70 and 75, we recommend making use of the practice modules available for free with your registration for the ALEKS placement test.

- Go to ALEKS.com and click Sign Up.
- Enter your ten-digit course code KTHQR-AMERF and click Continue to be taken to the ALEKS registration process.
- This ALEKS minicourse requires an access fee.
The approximate $29 access fee allows 6 weeks of access; in this time window, you can work on the topics in the minicourse at your own pace. Another access fee provides an additional 6 weeks of access.
