In order to receive the Ph.D. in Mathematics, you must:
- Complete the required coursework
- Pass the qualifying exams ('Tier exams')
- Complete the requirements for a Ph.D. minor
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading mathematics in a foreign language
- Successfully write and defend a dissertation
