Your support increases our capacity

We invite you to support our efforts in the mathematical sciences. The generosity of our donors enables us to provide enrichment opportunities to our students and innovative outreach programs to the community.

Glen Schober Memorial Fellowship Fund

Our Glen Schober Memorial Fellowship Fund was endowed to honor Professor Glen Edward Schober, an expert in the geometric theory of functions of a complex variable. Professor Schober was an immensely popular professor who was very generous with his time and expertise.

This fund supports outstanding graduate students, providing such assistance as professional support for registration fees and travel expenses for conferences. Money from this fund has also been used to support outreach efforts in the arts, bringing plays and movies to campus that relate to mathematics.

Mathematics Enrichment Fund

Our Mathematics Enrichment Fund provides general support for the department. In recent years, the fund has been used to support initiatives such as Math Circle, an outreach program to area schoolchildren that provides exposure to mathematical ideas not taught in the traditional classroom.

This fund also supports the Directed Reading Program (DRP). The DRP trains graduate students to be research mentors with our best undergraduates, introducing them to mathematical topics not included in our standard curriculum and providing each team of two with a relevant text.
