PROCEDURE FOR MATH DEPARTMENT FACULTY TO SCHEDULE AN EXAM IN THE MATH LEARNING CENTER
We will do our best to arrange a proctor and space for extended time and make-up exams. However, it will depend on the examination time and required conditions, number of students, proctor availability, and activity in the MLC.
Students requiring complete silence or a distraction-free testing environment should take their exams at Disabled Student Services. Their phone number is 855-7578. The MLC will proctor exams for students needing 50% or 100% extra time and can provide a reasonably quiet, distraction-reduced setting.
We generally proctor exams between 8 am and 5 pm. If needed, it may be possible to arrange earlier and later times.
Please use the following guidelines when scheduling an exam:
1. Please call Chris Parks at 855-5377 or email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org
Advance notice of at least 2 days is much appreciated.
2. The following information will be needed:
Instructor's name and course number.
Date and time you would like the exam to be taken. If possible, please include alternate times.
Length of time for the student to complete the exam.
Any special testing considerations such as extended time or noise/distraction considerations.
Any special instructions regarding calculators, notes, etc.
3. I will confirm the details once a time has been arranged. If you like, I can also email the student with their exam time and other details.
4. You may email the exam to Chris Parks as a pdf attachment or place the exam in his mailbox. If possible, this should be done the day before the exam is to be taken.
Generally I will deliver the exams directly to the instructor by the end of the day the exam was administered. If you prefer, I can leave the completed exam in your department mailbox or under your office door.
