Indiana University senior Bradley Hutchinson ’26 has been named a 2025 Distinguished Undergraduate Award recipient by the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), a prestigious and competitive national recognition for academic excellence and promise in space science. He is majoring in Math, Astronomy/Astrophysics, and Physics. He was selected for the Judith L. Pipher Memorial Scholarship, one of several honors awarded annually by USRA to undergraduates pursuing careers in space-related science and technology. Only seven students nationwide were selected for this scholarship.
“The Math department is very proud of Bradley’s accomplishment,” said Christopher Connell, Professor and Chair of Mathematics. “It represents an apex scholarship for those going into space science research.”
Hutchinson plans to pursue a Ph.D. in astrophysics, with the goal of becoming a professor at a university. He is particularly interested in research that combines theory, computation, and data-driven methods to address open questions in astronomy.
