‘Life is math:' The University Collections to open 'Unity in Variety' exhibition of Morton Bradley's works

Full Story

The SIDF program supports faculty members’ efforts to enhance student learning by encouraging innovative approaches to instruction and the development of measurable learning outcomes. The intent of the SIDF is to provide faculty members with compensation during the summer months so they can focus their full attention and energy on the proposed project.

Said Langowski and Parks in their proposal, "The curriculum of M125 has essentially not been changed in a decade. And the need for reform is more acute than ever, since we are seeing increasing numbers of underprepared students perhaps as a result of remote learning in high schools." Their efforts included researching a variety of alternative texts, models for more active classroom learning, and strategies to improve students' writing skills. Pilots based on their report are planned for this coming Spring 2023. Langowski serves as current precalculus coordinator, a role that Parks served in for many years.
